This series has a straighter keel-line, slightly less beam (width) and depth, and a little longer than as the Classic Expedition Series. These differences translate into a fast canoe, lower profile (less wind cocking) and less stability.
The Cruising series is preferred by the experience canoeist that doesn?t require the rock solid stability you find in the Classic Expedition Series. Many experience canoeists have commented that they feel these canoes are extremely stable.

The 515 is also a popular canoe. It has been purchased by people that paddle it as a single and a double. Although it is only one foot shorter than the 815 it has the appearance of being much smaller. Although the 515 is rated at 705 lbs I would not recommend this canoe for a couple with a combined weight that is greater than 300 lbs. The 815 is the most popular canoe in the Cruising Series. Its straight keel, low profile and length to beam ratio makes it a very fast canoe. On long trips where you have to cover many river miles the 815 is a proven winner. One of our customers that purchased an 815 went on a ten day trip with another party which had folding canoe from another manufacture. The other party was paddling hard to keep up with the Ally 815 in which its paddlers were progressing almost effortlessly. The two groups swapped boats and found that the problem was not in paddlers but canoes. In trying both boats over the course of this trip one in the party noted that the other canoe, ?paddled like a concrete log? The 715is a canoe that we have not stocked so we do not have any first hand knowledge about. With a length of 18? 4? I?ll bet really a fast canoe.
